Get the look: Calm those puffy eyes

It's common to wake up with puffy eyes after a big night out, so we asked Boots' Steve Barton to tell us why…

"As the area of skin under the eye doesn't cover bone or muscle, small spaces can develop under its surface. If these spaces fill with fluid, the area may look puffy. The fluid build-up is greatest when you wake up. But it normally clears, unless there's a lack of sleep or too much alcohol involved, as your circulation will then be temporarily impaired.

It's essential, therefore, to drink lots of water [to help get rid of fluid] and use a hydrating eye product, too."
