Diets and healthy weight: Eat what you want, not what you think you should

Another study allowed a group of toddlers to eat whatever they wanted - from spinach to ice cream – whenever they wanted. While they chose different foods at different times, every child ended up having eaten a balanced diet over the course of the study. As an adult, as soon as you tell yourself not to eat certain foods, they instantly become more attractive and the need to resist is exhausting. When you free yourself from the tension and guilt, over time you’ll wind up eating a fairly balanced diet – if 90 per cent  of your food is light and nutritionally sound, it's OK for 10 per cent to be fun food.
