Condition and shine: Myth busting: cold rinses make hair shine

Not true. All they do is constrict the capillaries that bring nutrients to the scalp to feed hair growth. They have no effect on the hair itself. You'll get a better effect by gently washing and rinsing hair, blotting it rather than rubbing dry, and then blowdrying and styling downwards so the cuticle lies flat to reflect light. That's what really makes hair shine.
